    sticky alert until acknowledged

    hi,

i wanted to know how to have a trigger that stay up until acknowledged ?

for exemple i have an alert for disk utilisation if it drops under 10% free but if the disk free enough space then the alert disapear. What i want is that the alert stay up until i acknowledge it even if the disk is now 80% free

    Is it possible ?
    Regards,

    Hi ghislain,

We do that with recurring alerts. When you set up an action, tick teh box "enable escalation". Then, in the action operations area, put in steps 1-0, which means it will infinitely keep alerting you, and put in a condition there to match "Event acknowledged = "Not Ack"".

That way, the alert will be sent every time 'Period' number of seconds have passed until it is both resolved and acknowledged. We tweaked it a bit more to only do that for triggers with severity > average to avoid it getting to annoying though

      thanks,

the alert is sending emails but is it showing in the triggers page ?

you see i have the trigger page openned to see if there is an issue and this is where i wanted to have the alert stay until i ack it.

No, it doesn't show on the triggers page. You could of course modify the source and make that happen, shouldn't be too difficult.

it would requirre making {TRIGGER.EVENTS.PROBLEM.UNACK} or {EVENT.ACK.STATUS} ( i am not sure ) usable in trigger expression. This i am not able to change in the code myself ^^

if ( 'last event of this trigger' is unack) then alert stay up
