How to ask natted hosts behind a Linux-Server

    Hi there,

today i tested zabbix and its great. I come from nagios which is also a nice tool.
My Problem is that I monitor a lot of hosts in internal networks behind a linux firewall.

In nagios I fire up nrpe on a linux server in the customers network and ask from my nagios server the nrpe to give me the values. The nrpe or ncap in turn asks the windows machines nrpes and gives me the values.

How can I do this with zabbix ? Are there zabbix proxies ? VPNs to each and every site I monitor are not an option.

    Thanks

2 options from what i understand. You can either configure the zabbix clients to send information to the server or open up ports on the Firewalls to allow zabbix server to query them. Opening holes is easy enough, use IPTables to only allow YOUR servers IP address through, close it off to everyone else.
