    install problem

    Hello All,
I tired to install Zabbix 1.8.3 today on a Centos 5.5 64-bit server and it did not fully install. I followed the directions from the site for installing from source. It looked like every step finished properly. The /etc/zabbix/zabbix.conf file was not created at least. I don't know what else was not done. Can I try to install the package using Yum over top of a failed install? How should I proceed?

    Thanks!

Ummm, there is no zabbix.conf file.

The three possibilities you would end up with are zabbix_server.conf, zabbix_agentd.conf and/or zabbix_proxy.conf - depending on what switches you used when compiling.

Show us the ./configure statement you used in the compile, and we can probably help you out.

      These directions? http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/1.8/manual/installation/installation_from_source

What about Steps 9 and 10, where it says "You may take misc/conf/zabbix_agentd.conf as example." & "You may take misc/conf/zabbix_server.conf as example."

Disclaimer: All of the above is pure speculation.
