Hi guys,
I have been running zabbix successfully for a while now but this weekend all hell broke loos on our WAN and Zabbix generated over 70k email alerts.
When I saw this happen i disabled all alerts and cleared my mail queue. However I still had mass emails comming into my mailserver after doing this operation.
I was wondering how this could be, would zabbix buffere SMTP traffic and send it to the mailserver even if the alerts are disabled for alerts that might have been generated after i disabled the alerts triggers?
Is there a location i can look to see mails in queue from zabbix to the mailserver and a way to clear this down if it ever happens again?
Ofcourse i'll be relooking at my triggers to finetune a bit.
Thanks,
Tom
