only way I have found to get them to come back UP is to delete the host and readd it. This is just not possible to do for every device. This is a terribly annoying bug that has been around since early zabbix.
If a device starts as Unknown it remains Unknown forever. How can I go about waking it up without restarting the servers.. Thats not an option they're production servers nor is deleting and adding hundreds of devices.
