Is it possible to do discovery with snmp? I see there is a mode for snmp but it asks for the OID. What OID should I use?

That's up to you, depending on what devices you have on your network.
You could use something generic like .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0 which is the system description. As far as I know almost every device should support that oid.
On the other hand you could try an oid specific to a device, so you'll know what kind of device you have discovered and can asign an appropriate template.
