Average Calculation

Hello,

1. How can we download history for an item? Directly grabbing the data from the database works but is there a better approach or a script?

2. Can average be calculated over a user given period of time?

3. Also, the period over which the average is calculated is bit unclear. Is the average over a period of 1 hour or is it over the total history? Is there an option to calculate average from a point when data first appears?
Does restarting zabbix-agent have any affect on the average?

in 1.8.3, there should be a possibility to retrieve history data over api. i don't think it's documented yet, though...

as for "average", you should define what do you mean there. trends table, average in graphs or something else ?

I am more concerned with the graph average reported? Not sure about the default duration for the calculation or if user can specify the period somewhere?

Is there is an average calculation for the trends table?

graphs are runtime generated, as is their legend. so the average you see in graphs is just that - average for the period, displayed in the graph
