    switch Cisco & Zabbix

    Hello,

I'm new with Zabbix and I'm having trouble figuring out how to do 3 little things.
I have one template which is Cisco 2960 (the switch i'm working on) and it sends snmpv2 packets to my switch, well i guess...

Can anyone tell me how to configure zabbix so it tells me:

-which ports are up & down
-How long they've been up or down
-to which vlan belong my port

    Thanks alot

It depends on what you want to do!
      First I recommend rtfm
Just read the chapter 12 in Zabbix documentation about Advanced SNMP Monitoring
What you might want to create are items based on:
      IfDescr, ifOperStatus, ifLastChange
for Vlan membership you can use Cisco-VLAN-Membership-MIB OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.68
Do an snmpwalk to see which oid is usefull for you.

Another approch could be to use zabbix trapper to get snmp traps (also described in docu and wiki)
