Migrating Checks Between Templates

I have been cleaning up some checks (moving them to the appropriate templates) and i have noticed, hosts that are linked to the template the check was originally part of are not dropping that check after I move it.

the check shows that it is part of a different template, and i have made sure it is not linked to that check.

so my question, is there a way to completely remove that check from the host after i move the check to a new template the host is NOT linked to?

Do not move them. Just do a copy to new template and then delete the old one. Then it should be fine.

when i try to copy them it gives me an errors.

im trying to move these checks out of the generic template into a more specialized template for the box i want to watch.

the original checks are already watching the box, so if i try to copy them into a new template, zabbix says they already exist and wont let me more them.

I just thought about stopping that check, (disabling it) then copying and seeing what happens. ill give that a shot and post back
