I'm new to Zabbix and have been configuring some Cisco router monitoring. One thing I haven't figured out is the best way to tell if a router is down. If I shut off a router, that doesn't seem to trigger an Action that is monitoring one of the interfaces to tell me that interface is down. What have others used to trigger an Action alert (eMail) that will notify me if a router can't be contacted -- i.e. is either being restarted or is completely down. Thank You and sorry to ask such a banal question.
