Same question here, how to from 1.8.1 to 1.8.3. By that i mean which installation scripts I need to launch, as its only a minor change and not everything needs to be reinstalled. Thanks.

All you really need to do is replace the server binaries, and then replace the web frontend. There are no database upgardes/patches to do in this case.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to find pre-built binaries, but compiling your own isn't that hard. I'm a relative newbie to Linux and I managed it without any real trouble. The Zabbix book by Rihards Olpus has very detailed guide on compiling Zabbix binaries. I'd definitely recommend buying a copy! It's available as an ebook if you don't want to wait for it to be shipped to you.

I have compiled the binaries and replaced them. Where is the frontend web stuff ? Mine still says 1.8.2

          my zabbix_server says 1.8.3 :
          root@jhb-grid-control sbin]# ./zabbix_server -V
          Zabbix Server v1.8.3 (revision 13928) (16 August 2010)
