    zabbix template items clarification

    Hi,

I have three linux machine to monitor. one runs database,
another runs web server, the last runs mail server.

do I need to create different linux template for each of them?
is there a way I can apply all of items in one linux template to all linux machines and then link some special items to specific linux host machine?

thanks for the help in advance.

Yes, you are on the right track. The existing Linux template can be used to monitor basic Linux metrics across all 3 of your servers such as CPU, memory, disk space and swap usage. Everything that is common to the Linux platform

If you get to where you want to monitor something specific, or unique on one server that does not apply to the other two servers, you have a choice of creating an item directly for that host (Non-templated) or you can create a new template for it and attach it to that host.
