New to Zabbix and already a few questions :)

Hi everyone,

i'm new to zabbix, trying to migrate from opennms. So hello everyone

Zabbix seems to be a GREAT tool, much more easy than Opennms.

I have successfully installed the server, the agentd on two hosts with not much problems.

I 'm beginning to understand how everything works, etc...
Still, Zabbix Server doesn't seem to be able to get the Mysql, Apache, Inetd, News, Syslogd and SSHd information from the host.
I always have for example a
Mysql is not running on myhost.mydomain.com

Is the Zabbix_agentd enough to retrieve this information? What did I miss in the configuration?

Hello, I'm also new to Zabbix and I was able to complied and install zabbix but after "make install", i couldn't see /etc/zabbix and /usr/local/bin/zabbix_server created. I'm running RHEL 5.5 64 bits server.

What seems to be missing?

That was due to grsec kernel on OVH
I had to enable ALLOW_ROOT in the sources to avoid this issue
