    Server Directive in Agent Config?

    Comma-delimited list of IP addresses of ZABBIX servers or Proxies. Connections from other IP addresses will rejected.
    Does it have to be IP addresses? Or, can the Server list be the hostname of the proxy/server?

    Yep, from the manual:

    List of comma delimited IP addresses (or hostnames) of Zabbix servers.
    No spaces allowed. First entry is used for receiving list of and sending active checks.
    Note that hostnames must resolve hostname→IP address and IP address→hostname.
    So as long as you set up both forward and reverse DNS you're good to go.

      Hmm... which means this won't work:

      Code:
      $ host zabproxadm1.mydomain.bogus
      zabproxadm1.mydomain.bogus has address 10.231.11.254
      $ host 10.231.11.254
      254.11.231.10.in-addr.arpa is an alias for 254.11.231.10.ddns.in-addr.arpa.
      254.11.231.10.ddns.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer zabproxadm1.mydomain.bogus.
      And this does:

      Code:
      $ host zabproxdmz1.mydomain.bogus
      zabproxdmz1.mydomain.bogus has address 10.248.10.29
      $ host 10.248.10.29
      29.10.248.10.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer zabproxdmz1.mydomain.bogus.
      I can accept this and work with it. But, just out of curiosity, why is Zabbix picky about DNS like that? Thanks for any additional insight.
