Some startup help needed

We are trying to start using Zabbix and have some questions....
Is there any way to monitor servers only with agent without forwarding ports to them? i mean that only agent send to Zabbix information and Zabbix dont send data to agent. In this way we dont need to fill in agent's ip adress and port.

Yes.
You need to set all items to "Zabbix Agent (Active)" mode.
You have to make sure that Server and Hostname are correctly set in agent configuration.
