    Configuration - Maintenance

    Hi All.

    After having read what I have of the doco, I am still not 100% clear on what the Maintenance Section of the Configuration options is for.

    I had initially believed that it was for establishing 'Maintenance Periods' for hosts. Such as having scheduled restarts of services that you dont want to be alerted upon. Ie : A service restarts at 6pm every day, and you dont want Zabbix to send a problem alert for this host during 5:55pm and 6:05pm. So you set a 'Maintenance' window.

    However, I still get alerts. I thought maybe it had something to do with the setting of wether or not to collect data during this time. Didnt have the desired effect.

    My question are these;
    a) Is my interpretation of the Maintenance Configuration page correct?
    b) Do I need to set an action condition like Trigger value = PROBLEM AND Maintenance status not in 'maintenance'?

    Thanks in advance

    JC

    p.s I realise this is probably very simple, but I am jolly confused at the moment and cant get a clear head

    Yes, your interpretation is correct and yes, you need to add a condition of "Maintenance status not in "maintenance"" to the action.

    You'll still see the "event" in Zabbix (Dashboard, Events, etc.) but your defined Action will be suppressed. So, if you normally get an email for the event, that will be suppressed.

          Shadow. Just configure your maintenance like this:

          Or see the attachment.

          This post was great to me. Tnx Orion
