Child node not sending config to master node

    Hi to all.
I have a distributed setup of just 2 Zabbix servers, one on my LAN (master node) and another one connected to my LAN via OpenVPN (child node), i had a catastrophic hardware issue with both my master node and the backup of its Mysql DB so i had to start over but when i configured the DM part on my master node i did nothing on my child node (because it was working fine until i configured the master node) ... and it suddenly stopped showing correctly the child node's web
interface ... i see this on every page

    Unable to select configuration
    Unable to select configuration
    Unable to select configuration
    Undefined variable: css[/usr/local/share/zabbix/include/users.inc.php:29]
    Unable to select configuration

And now i see no templates, no hosts, no nothing, if i check the child node logs everything looks fine and i even still receive alerts, both servers can comunicate with each other, and i'm also seeing hosts or anything related to child node on my master node web interface ... what's going on here? is there any way i can export my child node config? i mean, hosts, templates, graphics, maps so i don't have to start over again on my child host too

Both servers run on stock RHEL 5.5 64 bits and Zabbix 1.8.3 (mysql server 5.0.77 apache 2.2.3 and PHP 5.1.6)

i new in zabbix. i wanna know,

firstly, can i add new host on child node? when i monitor from master node, i cannot see new host that i add in child node.

second, can i change agent configuration in child node. for example to add host for other ip server node. i try to do this in windows agent and i got the problem that agent cannot start.

      Hi Sue,

DM is only useful for monitoring from a master node.
All configuration must be done on all nodes seperately!

For want you want, proxy might be a better choice.
For differences between proxy and dm node, see: http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...#proxy_vs_node
      With kind regards,

      Raymond
