Hi all,
It is a pain to keep up with machines that need a reboot (either Linux or Windows) because there are fragile dependencies between them - i.e. the app servers break if the Windows database server they rely on reboots.
It would be great if I could set up an item in the template that told me if a machine needed to reboot so I can do them manually.
The other reason I would like to know this is that I think (might be me misinterpreting things) that the Linux machines tend to go a bit wonky if I leave them too long after a kernel upgrade without an update.
I should say that I have them configured to automatically install updates *but not reboot* (puppet rocks!). Another approach would be to not install updates automatically and get zabbix to notify me when the machine needs updating??
Any ideas?
