Any idea how to monitor Zabbix?

I know mikoomi has one, but I don't know whether that can be integrated into the "vanilla" zabbix?

On that note - is mikoomi a superset of the vanilla zabbix - i.e. can I do everything in mikoomi I would do in vanilla zabbix? Is it "just" (no offence!) zabbix plus a few extra templates?

Hi,

The short answer is yes, Mikoomi is just Zabbix + some templates (and no offense taken ;-).

Mikoomi started out as a Zabbix appliance with some additional plugins/templates.
This was in Feb of 2010 when Zabbix did not have its own appliance.
Then around May 2010, Zabbix came with its own appliance - but it was still not usable in production because it came with only 20 Gb of virtual storage.

In August/Sept of 2010, they came out with a 60 GB virtual appliance so I (Mikoomi) stopped making my own appliance and promoted Zabbix's appliance and just focused on the plugins/templates.

In fact all the Mikoomi plugins/templates are plug-an-play with the Zabbix appliance.
