    Error webinterface install

I have installed zabbix with putty on a VPS server. I got the installation manual from this site: http://www.zabbix.com/wiki/howto/ins...tugutsyinstall
After the installation I accessed the web interface. But when I want to click on the installation button under, the tab administration, I am getting this error:

    * include_once(setup.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory[/usr/share/zabbix/instal.php:29]
    * include_once(): Failed opening 'setup.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear')[/usr/share/zabbix/instal.php:29]

I don't know what to do. Can somebody help me?

        Solved

        Hi,

just rename the file in question:

        mv setup.php.disabled setup.php

        that applies to 1.8.3.

        Cheers,

        zap

          Zap,

I tried your solution but it doesn't work. And now also my instal.php file is gone.

              Hi,

I just can tell how it worked on my system. zabbix 1.8.3 on ubuntu 11.04 (beta1). All the zabbix stuff and dependencies have been installed via apt-get. Maybe this is an debian issue? Squeeze comes with zabbix-frontend-php (1:1.8.2-1squeeze2) btw.
Switch to ubuntu or zabbix 1.8.3 (or even 1.8.4) or go for testing

              Good luck,

              zap

                Thanks Zap !

I tried something, as the server is not in production yet, the thing disappeared, but i don't know if it was a good idea (but everything seems alright) :

                I went to /usr/share/zabbix

                Then :

                cp instal.php setup.php

I don't have the error anymore, but could something behind be missing ? I don't know :s

I upgraded to 1.8.4, both zabbix-server-mysql & zabbix-frontend-php packages, issued from testing Wheezy. The upgrade went ok, BUT it has the exact same problem ... like in the original post of this thread, same errors ...

Started an Ubuntu VM on virtualbox, everything went fine, no error.

                  I don't know what's going on ....

                    Solved !

                    Here we go :

I took the setup.php file from a fresh Ubuntu install, which in fact is missing in the Debian Zabbix packages (at least in stable & testing). I put it in the Debian /usr/local/share/zabbix folder.

It works nice, the script works ok until the end. I join the file to this post so that those who need it can pick it here.

It comes from the 1.8.4 version.

Could someone of the Zabbix team inform the Debian teams ?

                      Hi Spear,

Yes it works. Just putting the file in the usr/share/zabbix folder should do the trick. Thanks for your help.

                      My regards,

                      Tim
