    Zabbix - MYSQL -- MYSQLDUMP

I have two Zabbix hosts. One at our headquarters, one at our DR site.

What I would like to do is this:

I would like to take a backup of the Zabbix database at HQ nightly and copy it to the remote server. I would like to restore the database on the DR side from that newly created backup.

Initial testing has proven to me that the restoration has taken well over 48 hours. Can anyone please shed some light on WHY it takes so darn long for the restore? The backup is about 3gb.

We don't care about the historical data for this server (although the backup file should definately contain the entire database.)

Can we just restore the hosts / templates / items...etc?

Any advice / scripts is very much appreciated...

Dump all data except all history* tables. You may load the historical data later when your new system is up and running.

Can you give more detailed steps on how to do that ? many of us don't have any database background ...
