    Aplications and Scenarios

    Hi,
In my initial exploration of zabbix I have done it by configuring a web scenario. However, under hosts I also see that applications and items can be configured.

I have created an application called "Web Service" and have been looking at adding an item to it, which seems analogous to a service. The Item dialogue allows a key to be selected, one of which is web.page.perf. This seems to duplicate what my web scenario is doing.

Can someone clarify the difference here? i expected to be able to link the web scenario to the item and then to the application. That doesn't seem to be the case so I'm a little confused...

Note: I'm using the zabbix appliance.

    Regards,
    David

    Hi,
Am I right in thinking that applications and items are agent related while scenarios are agentless, such as http requests?

      Hi,
Does no answer to my supposition mean that I am right or so far off that it's just a lost cause?

      Regards,
      David

        Aplications and Scenarios

        Web Scenario has no items.
All items to check in the scenario are defined within scenario itself.

It is linked to the application though - when you create it, you have to chose an application.
