        Are the OIDs that are queried correct?
        You can do a snmpwalk or snmpget to verify.
        With kind regards,

        Raymond

          The response of snmpwalk and snmpget is
          Timeout: No Response from "ip switch"

          I have used this command

          snmpwalk -v 2c -c "community name" -On "ip switch" .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5.2
          response is
          .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5.2 = Gauge32: 0

          snmpget -v 2c -c "community name" -On "ip switch" .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5.2
          response is
          .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5.2 = Gauge32: 0

            Me Too!

            I'm getting this as well.

            I've switched on debug on the target system's snmpd, and it looks very much like the community string isn't being sent by zabbix in the SNMP GET, despite the community string being set to 'public' in the zabbix Item.

            Here's the snmpd log from a command line snmpget (which works OK and returns a sensible answer):
            Code:
            Received 43 bytes from 10.27.4.153
            0000: 30 29 02 01  01 04 06 70  75 62 6C 69  63 A0 1C 02    0).....public..

            Received SNMP packet(s) from 10.27.4.153
              GET message

            And here's what the zabbix snmp probe looks like:
            Code:
            eceived 37 bytes from 10.27.4.153
            0000: 30 23 02 01  01 04 00 A0  1C 02 04 5A  A3 33 EF 02    0#........Z.3.

            0032: 01 05 00 05  00                                       .....

            Received SNMP packet(s) from 10.27.4.153
              GET message
                -- SNMPv2-MIB::sysName.0
            Note the lack of 'public' in the request.

            This is zabbix_server 1.8.4 on Solaris 10, compiled against net-snmp 5.6 . I've tried net-snmp 5.6.1 (latest), but it's the same.

            Anyone got any ideas?

            Dave

                Yes, the response is correct.

                Replace "ip switch" with that ACTUAL ip adres of your switch

                    I don't think so. I've not tried 1.8.6 on the server end yet though.
