monitoring if a process hangs

Hello,

I am new to Zabbix and searched already trough the forum for this particilar problem.
We have a process thats is being started now and the to convert drawings into pdf from a specified folder. But sometimes because someone is editing a drawing while it is saved in the conversion folder the process hangs an needs to be kill by hand using the taskmanager. Now instead we get a call from the users that the conversion is stopped we like to monitor it and kill it before we get a call or maybe ket Zabbix kill it for us.

Is this posible? and if so how can we do this?

Same need, different circumstances... I have processes that need to be tracked for non-response/hanging as well.

It's one of two questions I'm looking to answer this weekend as well.
