    Incomprehensible Zabbix Mail Alerts.

Zabbix sends me mails as soon as there is a change in the status of an item of a host.
    However, I have a problem.
Once zabbix sends me a mail saying PROBLEM, it sends me another saying OK within a gap of just 2 minutes.

It takes 2 minutes because it is the value of the parameter "update interval" of all my items as 120 seconds.

My problem is that I want zabbix to wait for some time reverfity again if the problem is solved before sending mails.

I guess it sends mails as soon as there is a status change but it does not wait or verify if the problem is sorted.

I am searching if there is a parameter to do this in the items or the triggers.

I have modified all the the parameters concerning the time interval ( like perios in action operations, udpate interval, other in administration) .... but nothing seems to work.

I am searching this since yesterday. And now, even I dont know what I want exactly.

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Rucha

    I presume you're using
    Code:
    {host:item_key.last(0)}<1
for your triggers. You could do
    Code:
    {host:item_key.max(300)}<1
to specify if things were less than 1 (presuming 1 is up, 0 is down) for 300 seconds, or five minutes.

All of these things are amply documented with some examples in the Zabbix documentation.

      Thankyou for your reply.
You drew my attention to the expression of the trigger which lead me to read about its different parameters.
I tried out your solution but it does not seem to work as I it should be.
May be the proble is that I am confused in my head.

However, I am continuing to try and I hope to get it right soon.
I also saw the examples in the documentation and they are really helpful.

      Best Wishes,
      Rucha.
