    Monitor SMTP response time

    Hi all,

Iv used the web application thing with the scenarios to monitor the response times
for HTTP. Now I want to do the same thing with SMTP. To connect to port 25
and report back how long it took, and then graph it.

Can this be done within Zabbix?

    Thanks

Yes it can. However you will need to write an external script to do it.

Hat tip to Jnx for pointing this out out in the IRC channel.

You might also look into the item smpt_perf

      http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...config/items?s[]=smtp_perf

It's about 3/4 the way down the page.

          assie,

the link is a bit broken due to the []

          Try this one simple checks

          Look for smtp_perf

Its not windows, its done from the zabbix server. Don't get mislead by the name perf
