grpmax item with macros

Hi, the grpmax function does not seem to work when defined with user macros in target host items

grpsum["PROD - BEA - Finantix","snmp_wl[OpenSessionsCurrentCount {HOSTNAME}]","max","300"]

Should this work or is this functionality not supported?
