zabbix populates with ip address, not hostname

I have set up some new agents on SLES10 and the Zabbix server is populating with the servers(so I am getting monitoring), but instead of it pulling the hostname from the /etc/zabbix/zabbix_agentd.conf file, its just putting the IP address in place where I see hostnames for other servers.

Looking on zabbix 1.8.2 under "monitoring>overview".

my server has the appropriate listings in /etc/resolv.conf.
I checked my zabbix_agentd.conf files on the servers i want to monitor, and they do have the full hostnames in the file.

Does Zabbix pull hostnames through the .conf files, or another way?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Solved

Actually turned out to be A DNS issue on the DNS server.
the zabbix server could not reverse lookup a certain vlan range.
