Where to configure SNMP community for a device

    Hi Every one,

I am totally new to Zabbix, and i am really enjoying it.

I have installed zabbix stable 1.8 on Ubuntu from source, have configured it front end. Have all necessary snmp librarries, net-snmp installed and i have compiled zabbix with net-snmp support.

Now when i add any device or Linux/BSD machine or Cisco device which has snmp agent running, zabbix gives me time out error, i am sure its because of snmp community string issue, zabbix seems to trying with default "public" and i have setup manual community names.

Now my question is very simple that where i can configure that snmp community name for device/host?

I am really thankful for your time.

    Regards

    Hi,

SNMP community is defined in item configuration, not at host level.
If you need to modify a lot of items, «Mass update» feature in «configuration of items» screen may help.
