    Map labels

    is it possible to change the label on a map element dynamically.

    Basically, I'm monitoring a failover environment. At any time one of two load-balancers could be the "active" server, while the other is "standby". I'd like to denote which is currently active on the map if that's possible, i.e. as well as "OK" show "ACTIVE"? I can remotely detect which one is active relatively easily, but I can't figure out how to show that on the map?

    thanks

    you could have an item on each of them which would return ACTIVE/STANDBY. then use {host:item.function()} macro in the map element label to show host/cluster node status on the map

        Resolved

        thanks for that, exactly what I wanted. If it's of help to anyone else, the map label I use is:

        Test NginxB:{Test NginxB:nginx.active.last(0)}

        nginx.active is an item referring to an agent-side script which returns either Active or Standby.

        so the label on the map element is shown as either

        Test NginxB: Active

        or

        Test NginxB: Standby

        thanks again
