Is it possible to run Zabbix Server as a service on a Windows Box? I've been testing it in Ubuntu and have been fairly impressed, but my boss is wanting to stick with Windows Servers if all possible.

No way
Hi, you can only install it on a UNIX derivate (Like Linux) as is clearly stated on the installation manual (Section 2.2 Supported platforms).
Of course if you managed to installed it on a ubuntu box ... well ... stick to it, anyway 99% of the configuration required is done via web interface ... but read carefully the server requirements, specially the database ones. -
Maybe you can get it working in Cooperative Linux?

I'm running Zabbix on Windows 2008 server running VM Ware so Zabbix is running as a VM, I'm currently evaluating the appliance. Everything is working great except active checks are returning some invalid data so not sure if thats a VM issue or something else, see my other thread on the topic.
However to satisify your boss you could use a VM solution running zabbix/linux on Windows?Comment
