how to make host group definitions available to all?

    Hi folks,

How can I export the host group definitions done as Admin to other users? Currently a new user starts with the default groups "all", "discovered hosts" and "Linux", afaics. The Admin user defined about 20 groups, but the others don't see. Is there something misconfigured?

Any helpful comment would be highly appreciated.

You need to (as Administrator) go to Administration --> Users, then select 'User groups' from the dropdown box.

Then you select the User Group and Add hostgroups to the User Group, with the necessary privileges 'read-only', 'read-write'.

    Hope that helps.

      Hi MrKen,

      many thanx for your hint.

Sorry to say, but this appears to be predestined to be forgotten when introducing new hosts groups. Do you think the user groups could be granted ro or rw access to a new group by an additional option in the host group configuration window? This would make creating a new host group and giving user groups access to it a single admin operation.
