    [noob] Monitoring workstation performance

It was suggested that I use Zabbix to track the performance of our computers here, mostly generics, but also several CAD workstations. One goal is to track performance degradation over time. This part I am not exactly sure how to do, any suggestions are welcome.

I am also trying to get ahold of network activity on a per-workstation basis, in and out. We have a mixed XP and Windows7 environment, if that is important. How should I get these numbers out of the workstations?

The Zabbix agent can access, track, graph and alert on all the Windows performance monitor counters. I would suggest to start looking at those for your CAD workstations.
