Selecting templates for items of a new hosts

I am running ZABBIX 1.1beta6.

It seems that I can only add items manually for hosts. When I configuring a host (say for win 32 agent) I try to use ---- Use templates of this host : Host.Win32 and the save the configuration. It ends up that nothing shows up under the items list for the new host and the host configuration shows Use templates of this host … (which I assume means no template selected).

I put everybody in the group and it still does not work. What am I missing?

i have the same behavior, a work around is to use the bulkinstert tool to insert hosts. This is how i do from now on and it work quite well .

You're not using templates right. You need to have a system setup with a linked template that you assign to the new host. For more detail you can search the archives. This has been discussed.

Templates are not working 100% in beta6. For example, if you change an item in a tempalte, depending on what you change in the item, it might duplicate the item on all your linked hosts as well as other issues. These problems are still being worked out.
