Inventory

I've just installed Zabbix, and am having some problems getting started.

If I go to Configuration -> Hosts, then I can see all hosts on my network.
However, if I go to Inventory -> Hosts, I see nothing. Why are there two areas for hosts, what is the difference, and why does one show hosts but the other does not. I'm sure there is good reason.

Also, trying to following the web monitoring real life scenario in the 1.8 manual. I have completed step 1, but step 2 says go to Configuration -> Web and select a host. I cannot do this because there are no hosts listed.

What am I doing wrong?

I understand now that i can find the hosts in the downdown list on the top right. I was expecting to see them in the main table, but i understand now that entries in the main table are for scenarios, which i haven't yet created.

To see hosts in the inventory must have filled the areas 'profiles' and / or 'extended profiles' to see them.
