    Memory monitoring on linux machines

Anybody know of a good way to measure memory usage? 'PS' listings don't work so well because of problems with multiple processes listing the same shared memory usage.

    i.e.

    oracle 22095 2.3 9.9 1053560 405328 ? S 09:22 1:45 oracledsprod (LOCAL=NO)
    oracle 22097 3.6 10.9 1052532 447032 ? S 09:22 2:47 oracledsprod (LOCAL=NO)
    oracle 22099 2.6 10.4 1053548 429428 ? S 09:22 1:59 oracledsprod (LOCAL=NO)

Here 3 processes list different percentages of memory, although they may all be using the same regions, so totalling those percentages is not exactly accurate.

Do you look for per-process memory usage or total?

Total could be cut from /proc/meminfo
