Actions after Maintenance Period Expires

I am curious if there is a way to get my actions to fire after a trigger comes out of a maintenance period in a true state.

For example.
Monitoring WAN sites. I don't need to know if it bounces overnight if the site is not 24/7, but if it goes down over night, I need to know about it as soon as the maintenance period ends so that I can act on it.

From my testing of maintenance periods, this does not happen. Has anyone else had differing results?

This is the 1 feature holding us back from using Zabbix exclusively in our production monitoring.

I appreciate anyone's insight in this matter.

I'm not sure the intent behind your question or how it helps my situation, but I know what the hours of operation are for all my sites.

Here is an example.

Ping monitoring on a WAN link.
Maintenance period configured for host from 0000-0600 daily.
If the site goes down during this period and remains down when the maintenance expires at 0600, I do not get an alert from zabbix.

I would like to get an alert at this time to know that the site is down so I can take action.

Here is an example of one of my triggers for something similar:

This service is shutdown at 17h15 and restarted at 7h30 from monday to friday. So outside those time of production, I don't care about the alerts and this prevent the trigger to fire.

I could see how that could do what I want it to do, but it seems very complex for what I'm trying to do. I would have to have a different set of triggers for each of my sites since they are not all following the same operating hours. The maintenance period working as I desire would be much simpler.

I think a nice feature may be something as simple as a check box on maintenance periods that would enable/disable alerts(actions) when a maintenance period expires with a trigger in the "True" status. Does that make sense?
