Why some items and their vlaues are not kept in history?

Excuse me, I just met a quite strange problem with zabbix 1.8.4. There are some items I monitored,and
set the history to 30 days, but their history datas are not in the history table in zabbix database.
There are many itemids in the items table but not in the history table !
I wonder what cause that problem and how can I manage to keep the datas I need into the histroy table.
(I know the trends table can keep history datas, but it's not enough for me, I need the original hitory
record with every single update interval.)

Anyone can help me? Thanks a lot!

Check the history_uint table for your itemid ^_^
