    Live CD Zabbix, unreachable frontend access

    Hi all,

    By the way, sorry for my bad english.

    I would test Zabbix monitoring server with the Live CD on an HP Proliant G4 360.

    I install it with yast but i don't access to the frontend web zabbix server with my specified IP adress 172.17.X.X from another computer on the same class IP.

    I specified the IP to Hosts, Http and servername. I suspend the Susefirewall but i don't succeded to go to zabbix web.

    How can acesss to the frontend web access ?

    Thank you for your help

      Yes i can reach the port 80 with the command telnet , no problem but i get the "object not found" at the page (http://X.X.X.X/zabbix) :

      Error 404

      X.X.X.X
      Tue Aug 2 16:06:03 2011
      Apache/2.2.15 (Linux/SUSE)

      I put the IP adress in Yast configuration with Http, servername, etcc and at last i deactivate the firewall but nothing happen, the same error page.

      Finally, i don't see the classic apache page. In my Directory, i didn't see zabbix script to launch in /usr/local

        Try this from the manual:
        http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...tion/appliance
        Section 6.3.
        I think you need to open for your ip subnet - in the apache server.

          <IfDefine ZABBIX>
          Alias /zabbix "/usr/share/zabbix/"
          RedirectMatch ^/$ /zabbix

            Sorry, then I do not know what is wrong in your environment ...

            For testing I mostly use the virtual appliances from richlv:
            http://susegallery.com/a/MdKfmk/zabb...?version=1.8.5.
            Running them with a vmware player – works every time for me.

              I know what you have done.......
              The "Yast" has changed apache2 conf completely.
              Run "Yast" again and go to "NW Services -> HTTP Server -> Main Host"

              Use "Tab" Carefully to navigate and enter the details to its original
              ==================
              Directory: "/usr/share/zabbix"
              Doc Root: "/usr/share/zabbix"
              ==================
              Then just save all this

              Note: http://10.10.10.10/ should take you to zabbix. Don't use "/zabbix/" as it doesn't work ok...

                  Live CD Zabbix, unreachable frontend access

                  We have edited Apache with Yast to make below changes. So Apache here directs all the requests to inside of the Directory "zabbix" and not to "share" as share directory is having many other sub directory, it is advisable to avoid redirection to "share" thus "http://10.10.10.10/" goes to "zabbix" and "http://10.10.10.10/zabbix/" request goes to "http://10.10.10.10/zabbix/zabbix/" which simply doesn't exist.

                  Directory: "/usr/share/zabbix"
                  Doc Root: "/usr/share/zabbix"

                      access front end fromt internet

                      Hi all,
                      i am a newbie in the world of zabbix and linux in general. Just a question. I have configured zabbix with a vmware virtual machine but i can't reach zabbix front end from outside my lan.

                      In dept,
                      if I make http://192.168.X.X i reach my zabbix web server but
                      if I make http://78.89.23.4 (that is my public ip address) i can't reach it (obviously in this case I'am physically in another lan).

                      I configure my modem/router to redirect all incoming request to port 80 to the zabbix server and in fact the page browser show me is Zabbix OpenSuse Access Denied!

                      So vmware is reached by the request ; but should be something that block me.
                      what is it??
