I am experiencing a lot of frustration trying to use the Zabbix proxy; I have an enormous backlog (~635 items) in the >10 minutes bucket on the queue, and none of them ever seem to clear. There's no reason the proxy shouldn't be able to collect this information, and if I migrate the host containing these items to collect directly from the Zabbix server instead, then those items will collect. The proxy is on the same network, and has no problems connecting to the any of the agents - I can telnet to port 10050 on any of them without issue - but the items simply don't collect.
I have tried going through the zabbix_proxy log, and it mostly contains errors about unsupported items (which is fine - I'm disabling or correcting them as I find them) or "Sending List of Active Checks to [IP] failed: Host not found." errors, which seem very strange since I don't -use- active checks.
Can anyone give me any feedback at all here?
