trigger that triggers if a word appear in file !!

I want a trigger that triggers when the word "error" appears in my log file ????
can u help me as to what is the description ,type of data ,key ... of the item I need .
in other words I want to know how to monitor a log file .

it did help me but I still have some issues
I don't know the encoding type (in his case he's got ascii )

harmonica. I'll try tomorrow at work.

Today I spend a lot of time developing shell scripts for that and put than in the UserParameter at agentd.conf.
Now are everything working fine, but I think its better if I can put this to work with native functions.
