Displaying map element Label only

When I enable Icon label type to: Label
There is no selection to turn off Problem display.

I am interested in only displaying the data that I have enter in the label field. I am also needing to keep Icon Highlighting enabled.

Does anyone happen to know where in the maps.inc.php I can make this change?
My php skills are very lacking, the only thing I have managed to do is disable all status including icon highlighting.

I want to use a hidden/invisible image (or visible dot) and item value in label. And it would be nice if the dot or a circle around the hidden image would take the color of an severity/trigger.
