Trigger is always considered 'problem' in a map view?

Hi All! I'm trying to create a map that includes access layer switches and user hosts. And I want to change the color of the link to particular user host from the switch while not fire the switch with the "Problem" icon, because turning off the user pc is not the problem for the switch actually, but link is down! The one way to do this that I can see is to ping user host and base link status on that trigger, and it really seems very unefficient way to me! We are storing annecessary data (ping of user hosts) while link up/down would be anough in that case, and also the absence of ping to host in not actually 100% sign of link down!

Is there any other way to have trigger that is enabled and is being used, but that is not being added to the number of 'problems' for a host? I thought that "informational" or "not classified" are treated so, but they are not.
    Thanks!
