    Host where Passive works... and Active Doesn't...

    What would cause a host to choke on active checks?

    I have a "unified" config on ~70 windows machines... I have active & passive checks on those 70 machines...

    However...

    I have a windows server that is not responding Active updates. If I change it to a passive check, that particular check works. But if it's an Active check, it does nothing.

    Server=zabbix,192.168.1.1
    Hostname=HOST
    LogFile=C:\Program Files\Zabbix\zabbix_agentd.log
    EnableRemoteCommands=1
    StartAgents=5
    Everything else is defaults. This works on all computers on my network, which is leaving me stumped.

    Code:
    Server=192.168.1.1
    Hostname=<unique_name>
    LogFile=C:\Program Files\Zabbix\zabbix_agentd.log
    EnableRemoteCommands=1
    StartAgents=5
    Active checks don't work if the hostname the agent is using doesn't correspond the hostname in zabbix.
    Passive checks do work then...

    I would check that first....
    Check your server log....

      Zabbix UI Host Name: HOST
      Zabbix Agent Host Name: HOST
      Host name: HOST

      HOST... name is same across the board. I've done my best to stay all caps for server names (due to case sensitivity). Zabbix server has been restarted... zabbix agent has been restarted.

      The servers, as of right now, have two sets of monitors... general (Server, zabbix info and pings) and hard drives (Space free, percent free, total). General monitors are passive... hard drive monitors are active checks. If I switch it to Passive, they process fine. Switch back to Active and nothing.
