    zabcon and mac osx

    Best,

I would like to try the zabcon tool on my mac osx. If I have seen it correctly, you can use zabcon remote. This means, running it on my laptop when the zabbix server is somewhere else in the network?

So to try this, I was trying to install the zabcon things in my mac but this resulted in following error...

    Code:
    > sudo gem install zabcon
Building native extensions. This could take a while...
    ERROR: Error installing zabcon:
ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension.

            /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/bin/ruby extconf.rb
mkmf.rb can't find header files for ruby at /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/lib/ruby/ruby.h

Gem files will remain installed in /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/json-1.6.1 for inspection.
    Results logged to /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/json-1.6.1/ext/json/ext/parser/gem_make.out
Can you help me? I tried installing previous versions of zabcon but this didnt help.

    Thanks in advance!

Looks like I missed your post while I was on the road. I do most of the development for Zabcon on Fedora and Mac OS-X. You will need to install XCode and the associated Mac Development libraries. The process is overall pretty straightforward when you understand what you need to install.

XCode is found on one of the DVDs which come with your system or I believe you can download the latest from Apple.

Let me know if you have any other issues.

There is also a mailing list for Zabcon:http://groups.google.com/group/zabcon
