simple question about items

i am very new to this...

my question is this.

i see that the templates have multiple items associated with each application. most of them dont have triggers. i understand the purpose of triggers...

i dont see any place that shows you the results for the "items" except for the graphs...

can someone enlighten me and tell me how to work with items? i know what they are used for but i dont know how to check on the results after the device is polled.

Latest data

If the Host's item has been polled then it should show up under:
Monitoring -> Latest data

This is a list of the items currently being monitored, grouped by Host.
Click on the plus sign next to the Host that has the item you are interested in.

If you click on the Graph link to the far right of the item you will get the graph for the polled data. There is a pull down menu on the right above the graph. If you select Values it will give you the actual data used for the graph.

Note:
- Host not listed: The monitoring for the host/item is disabled or... make sure Group and Host pull-down menus at the top right are not limiting what is shown (try "all" for both).
