Prerequisites for installing Zabbix onto a Ubuntu 11.10 install

    Hi Everyone,
I'm new to Zabbix and Linux but learning fast!
I was wondering, is there a list of Prerequisites need to install Zabbix onto a ubuntu install?
Don't suppose someone has written a easy how to guide have they?
I have the virtual environment running, but at the moment i'm unable to find anything on the network.
Do i need the agent running?
I've configured the discovery section for my local network but still nothing.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Pete
