Zabbix newbie - monitoring SNMP enabled embedded devices

    Hi,

I have an embedded device that is SNMP v2c enabled. I have installed Zabbix on Ubuntu and created a host to monitor this device.

While creating a host, I set the Zabbix Agent Port entry to 161. I created an item with the OID that I need to query and activated it. I created a graph for the item to check for the trend of the item.

I do not see the SNMP queries happening on my embedded device. I have verified that the SNMP queries work very well from another pc.

How can I debug to see what is wrong? Is my configuration wrong? Is there a log that I can check to see which SNMP queries are happening?

    Please let me know.

    Regards,
    Radha.

I've verified that snmpwalk and snmpget do work from the zabbix server. Attached herewith are the configurations that I have for my device.

What am I doing wrong? Is it the key? Can't I give any arbitrary text for the key? How is the key used?
