    Updating Zabbix Master Node

    Greetings!

I'm working with my Zabbix Master node and 3 slave nodes and I my goal is to update then all to get more performance and the new network monitoring solution for Windows using IP address.

I've searched the web but found nothing about it, sorry if I missed something in the way.

The thing is we will use only one server. We will start updating the Master, backup it, create a new Zabbix with the new version (1.8.9) and restore the backup into it.

So.. in this middle time, until we restore the database back to normal..will not the slaves take the configuration of this "fresh installation" and screw up all the client nodes?

Our idea is to turn on iptables and block Zabbix connections on port 10050, so there we'll have no conversation between the servers, and will not screw up anything, but I'm still not sure it will will work.. what is the best practice of doing the updates in the master and slave machines? Am I missing something?

    Sorry about my English.

    Kind regards,
