I and not sure if this is the place to get an answer about this, but as I couldn't find a "developer" section to this forum, I will take my chance.
I need to write a spec file for Zabbix under Redhat and came accros something that boggle me: zabbix_get is compiled and installed by --enable-agent. I read the man page and it states:
If so, then why is it packaged with the agent? My expectation would be to have this binary compiled for the server, not the agent. Currently, I see thre possibilities:
1) It is packaged with the agent to test locally
2) It was expected that zabbix_server would also have zabbix_agent installed
3) Zabbix_proxy and zabbix_server do not use zabbix_get. Therefore, it was packed with the agent to limit the size of the server/proxy installation
Anyone would have the official reason?
